Many DocTypes carry a status field of type Select — a fixed, source-declared vocabulary of application-level states such as Draft, Open, or Completed. This is a separate, higher-level machine layered on top of the framework’s own docstatus lifecycle (0 Draft / 1 Submitted / 2 Cancelled); see Data model for docstatus itself, which this page does not restate.

A status field and submittability are independent. Source-wide, only 44 of 76 submittable DocTypes carry a status Select, and several non-submittable masters carry one too — status is not a property reserved for transactions. Submittability itself is not a 1 match with this site’s kind T either: the source has 76 submittable DocTypes but the site documents 72 as kind T — Asset Maintenance Log, BOM Update Log and POS Invoice Merge Log are excluded from the 448, and Contract Fulfilment Checklist is submittable but classified C (a child table). The Select options below are listed in source declaration order, not alphabetically, so the table mirrors the pinned upstream release; that order is not evidence of an enforced transition sequence, only of how the field was declared.
